The Art of Business

I speak with serial entrepreneur Alex Simonelli about art, business, and what it takes to succeed in business.

Episode Goal

We all know that art can be good business. Depending on your area of art, your network, the reception from the market, the industry, and sometimes good ol’ plain luck; being an artist can become enormously lucrative. This has never been more true than today where creativity is greatly sought after. But what about the other way around? Can business be a form of art in and of itself?

At CCT, I love being able to curate stories from life and business that bring lasting value and insight, and today is no exception. Alessandro is a serial entrepreneur, philosophical mind, artistic soul and a long-time friend of mine. In this episode, I talk with him about his journey in business and life which, as you will see, doesn’t always have the luxury of a clearly defined line.

Key Questions & Themes

Q: How do you define art?

Q: What is your definition of an artist?

Q: Have you met artists who have trouble turning a profit from their art?

Q: What was your earliest entrepreneurial venture?
